Vaccinations save lives! Vaccination is an immunisation intended to prevent the spread of a severe communicable disease. Vaccines contain ingredients called antigens, which help the body develop immunity (protection) against specific diseases.
Presidential elections in Iceland
Presidential elections in Iceland will be held on the 1st of June 2024. Early voting before election day begins no later than 2nd of May. Voting may take place before election day, such as with District Commissioners or abroad. For information about who can vote, where to vote and how to vote can be found here on island.is.

Learning Icelandic
Learning Icelandic helps you integrate into society and increases access to employment opportunities. Most new residents in Iceland are entitled to support for funding Icelandic lessons, for example through labour union benefits, unemployment benefits or social benefits. If you are not employed, please contact the social service or the Directorate of Labour to find out how you can sign up for Icelandic lessons.
