About the counselling service

The Multicultural Information Centre runs a counselling service and its staff is here to help you. The service is free of charge and confidential. We have counsellors that speak English, Polish, Ukrainian, Spanish, Arabic, Italian, Russian, Estonian, German, French and Icelandic.

Immigrants can get assistance to feel safe, to be well-informed and supported while living in Iceland. Our counsellors offer information and advice with respect to your privacy and confidentiality.

We are cooperating with key institutions and organizations in Iceland so together we are able to serve you according to your needs.

Meet the counsellors

If you want to come and meet our counsellors in person, you can do that at three locations, depending on what your needs are:

Reykjavík

Grensásvegur 9, 108 Reykjavík

Walk-in hours are from 10:00 – 12:00, Mondays to Fridays.

Ísafjörður

Árnagata 2 – 4, 400 Ísafjörður

Walk-in hours are from 09:00 – 12:00, Mondays to Fridays.

Those seeking international protection can go to the third location, the Domus service centre, located at Egilsgata 3, 101 Reykjavík. The general opening hours there are between 08:00 and 16:00 but the MCC’s counsellors welcome you between 09:00 – 12:00, Mondays to Fridays.

Languages our counsellors speak

Together, our counsellors speak the following languages: English, Polish, Ukrainian, Spanish, Arabic, Italian, Russian, Estonian, German, French and Icelandic.
